Free public transportation and intersections adapted for our seniors.

Even before being elected as mayor, Valérie Plante promised to make intersections safer for seniors as well as for children. To achieve this, she stated her intention to extend traffic light durations, allowing pedestrians with a slower walking pace than a healthy adult to cross the street without undue haste. She also noted that last year, a death occurred due to an insufficient crossing time, and yet no measures had been taken to address the situation.

In the same effort to improve the quality of life for seniors, Ms. Plante proposed during her election campaign to make public transportation free for all seniors.

Only time will tell if these projects will come to fruition, but we can remain hopeful about the fresh initiatives introduced by the new mayor.
